At the end of 2016, Dorchester and Mattapan residents of a slum landlord in bankruptcy learned how to mount a fierce resistance and fought to save 59 households from being displaced. These units are now under community control. This was a tremendous victory.
We will continue to organize to get more buildings out of the market and into the hands of the community.
We will strengthen and expand our popular education and organizing skills trainings for our members and our allies.
And, we will strategize with allies nationally across issues to mount a coordinated defense of our homes, families, communities, and land.
